What are the cardiovascular system and its diseases?

The circulatory system of blood, also known as the cardiovascular system,  That is made up of the heart and blood vessels that running throughout the body. In other words, it supplies all cells of the body with nutrients and oxygen. The cardiovascular system is essential to maintain the functioning of your body. For example, the Cardiovascular system carries your entire body with oxygen, nutrients, electrolytes, and hormones. Disorders, blockages, or diseases that affect the way how your heart works can cause complications such as heart disease or stroke.

Issues Related to Cardiovascular Illness

Several circumstances may be associated with cardiovascular illness:

Heart Attacks

That can occur when insufficient blood reaches your heart caused by blocked arteries. Above all, a heart attack can damage your heart muscle and is a medical emergency. Luckily, some people can survive when they hit their first heart attack. Also, they can live for the rest of their lives without any problems. But having a heart attack means some modification needs to be done in your lifestyle and health habits.

Stroke

A stroke can happen when blood flow to a portion of the brain is lost. In this case, the cells of your brain will not receive enough oxygen and nutrients from the blood as it needs. For that reason, your brain cells start to die within a few minutes.

That can cause some serious issues such as lasting brain damage, long-term disability, or in the worst case, even death. If too many brain cells die due to lack of oxygen that can be a permanent effect of a stroke. Those damaged cells will not reproduce again.

Heart Failure

If the heart is not pumping the blood as it should, we call it a Heart failure. Sometimes we call it as congestive heart failure. Some people think that heart failure means the heart stops beating. That is wrong. Instead, the heart continues to work, but the body doesn’t meet the blood and oxygen as it needs. Heart failure is a severe medical condition requiring therapy. However, early therapy improves with fewer complications, your likelihood of long-term recovery.

Arrhythmia

If your heart has an irregular beating rhythm, we call it the Arrhythmia. In this case, the heart may beat too fast, too slow, or the rhythm may be irregular ultimately. Doctors refer to the word Bradycardia when your heart rate is too slow. Usually, in this case, the heart rate is less than 60 beats per minute.

If your heart rate is too fast, something like more than 100 beats per minute, then Doctors refer the word Tachycardia to identify it.

Heart Disease

Heart disease or cardiovascular disease is a problem that mainly we can see in older people. In other words, it means that they are having some issues with their heart and blood vessels. Those issues can lead them even to death.

Heart Valve Problems

If your heart valves don’t operate as they should, we call it Heart valve disease. That can happen due to damages of one or more valves of your heart. It can affect the way how blood runs through your body, and it leads to some severe problems.
